Great collection for the intermediate to advanced classical guitarist!

I went to a college conservatory for classical guitar performance. This book is excellent for the intermediate to advanced classical guitarist if you want to have a collection of great music from the Renaissance to the Romantic Period. There are some good pieces for the beginner as well, such as the Sonatine by Giuliani, and a few studies by Sor, Carulli and Giuliani. Like with any publication there will be some mistakes, but overall it's very good quality with more than decent fingerings. By the way, for the reviewer that thinks slurs onto opposite strings are not possible, well they are and are often found in internediate to advanced pieces. A lot of Segovia transcriptions for example has them. If you want a good compendium of classical guitar pieces that sound good, get this book! I don't think a day goes by that I don't pick it up and play something from it.

a nice thick book with a good deep selection

i've added 3-4 pieces to my repertoire out of this book and i frequently find myself reaching for it to practice sight reading. a couple times i've heard a piece i've really enjoyed on a CD from the library or something, decided to learn it, and been pleasantly surprised to find that it's in the book.
the hyperbolic prose on the cover is always good for a laugh.

You know, it seems like common sense to me, but publishers just can't get it right-MUSIC COMPILATIONS SHOULD ALL BE SPIRAL BOUND! Thank you Jerry Willard and Amsco for attempting this unprecedented feat.
Recuerdos de la Alhambra, Sevilla, the Grand Solo and dozens more all in one book! Amazing. Now I have to get volume two.
