Russell T. Fuller (Ph.D., Hebrew Union College) is associate professor of Old Testament interpretation at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. He has written for journals and has published several articles in The New International Dictionary of Old Testament Theology and Exegesis.

Kyoungwon Choi (M.Div., Southern Baptist Theological Seminary) is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in the Old Testament Department at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.

About the Author
received her Ph.D. in general psychology from Moscow State University, Russia, in 1990, and her Ph.D. in developmental psychology and genetics from Yale University, U.S.A., in 1996. Currently, Dr. Grigorenko is Associate Professor of Child Studies and Psychology at Yale and Associate Professor of Psychology at Moscow State University. Dr. Grigorenko has published more than 200 peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and books. She has received awards for her work from five different divisions of the American Psychological Association: the Gardner Lindzey Dissertation Award in General Psychology, Sigmund Koch Early Career Award in Theoretical and Philosophical Psychology, Berlyne Early Career Award for Creative Achievement in Psychology of the Arts, Boyd McCandless Early Career Award in Developmental Psychology, and Richard E. Snow Early Career Award in Educational Psychology. In 2004, she won the APA Distinguished Award for an Early Career Contribution to Developmental Psychology. Dr. Grigorenko's research has been funded by NIH, NSF, DOE, Cure Autism Now, the Foundation for Child Development, the American Psychological Foundation, and other federal and private sponsoring organizations.

H.A. Ironside (1876-1951) was an internationally acclaimed Bible teacher and preacher, as well as the author of more than sixty books. A theologically sound interpretation with applications.

Ironside is marvelous in his commentary on Daniel. His interpretation of prophecies are very sound as well as his interpretation of the whole book. The part of the book that is amazing is the personal application which he draws from the very rich pages of the book of Daniel. A masterpiece in biblical interpretation.

A great commentary on the book of Daniel

Overall it helped me understand the book of Daniel better than just about any commentary I've read. There were a few things that I (and other commentators that I trust) disagree with his interpretation of, but considering how long ago it was written, I still think it is a relevant and necessary commentary to read for any Christian seeking to understand the book of Daniel better. I've started slowly getting all of Ironside's commentaries.

Good luck.

This book contains lots of information about the geology of the Colorado Plateau... the problem is that it's incredibly difficult to read, even for folks like me who studied geology in the Southwest. For one thing, it provides little overview information, which would help introduce key concepts and tie them together. (Of course, tying key concepts together might be easier if the author were comfortable with plate tectonics as a driver for the structural features of the region... but that's another story). The fact that this book is chock full of mistakes--for example, referencing figures that don't actually exist--doesn't help, either. In fact, I generally found the illustrations to be more confusing than helpful. They never appear in places where they'd actually help you understand the text, and when they do appear, they're often confusing because they lack labels... or, worse yet, they are not discussed at all. It's too bad; with a good editorial and peer review, this book could have been a worthwhile reference. I definitely would not recommend it for the lay audience.

I wasn't excited to read this at first (it was a book for an Anthropology book report) but I ended up really liking it. Griffin-Pierce is able to give a good perspective on the Navajo life and rituals without sounding too 'sciency'. Her writing is easy to read and she does a good job describing the process and art without using pictures (Navajo didn't want her to photograph the paintings). I would definitely recommend this book. I have since gained more interest in the subject and want to continue reading!
